Fortunately, we get to experience a first snow every year(if you live in a snow zone). I find it brings me equal, if not greater wonderment every year. Joseph experienced his first snow ever this year. That alone brings me great wonder.Well, well, now here I am in a new time of life--planning a wedding, teaching my fiance how to make snow angels, sending my resume to many corners of the US...planning to settle somewhere...stay somewhere for more than a few months.
After years of hoping for this day, a little less than a month ago, Joseph and I boarded a plane to the US together. We'll plan to be here until he can get unconditional permanent residency and have dreams of working our way out of my college debt (ha ha) and continuing studying (to make that first dream harder...and then going back to southern Africa.
Miana made for a very bubbly and chatty welcome to the US when she and her father picked us up from the airport.

Joseph has been adjusting to this country, this cold, this culture very gracefully. Some impressions he's shared: the houses rarely have fences around them (as opposed to the wealthy African homes in urban areas), the internet is fast, the nice Greyhound buses must have all been sent to Africa for World Cup 2010, vehicles are generally rather dirty (especially in ND), and that people are very friendly.
We've been buzzing around--from PA to VA, back to PA, bus ride to Minneapolis where we met Laura and Kim who drove us to Wolford. Wolford to Montana and back again. We went to our friend Tony's wedding. We had a lovely Thanksgiving feast with family members. We visited some family in Montana, spent time with friends...has just been a good time.
Tony's big day arrived at last, may the new year bring us the same loveliness.

Tony and Veronica did indeed dance at their wedding...keep the dance going, friends.
