During the month of March a lot of my time has been spent planning and implementing teacher trainings for the preschool teachers in all of the places I work. In total 27 teachers came to Chimoio for a three day training which we held twice. It was overall positive. I only had to tell one guy to go wash his face to wake up (the others I just let slide). And a friend said that some of the teachers mentioned what they'd learned in the seminar in an unrelated conversation. I think that means they're processing.
I really want the teachers to get into letting kids play with toys where they can be creative and concentrate. My whole goal for the past three years has been to find things that are available in the communities. I promised the teachers that if they provided the logs, we could cut them and possibly even paint them like these. I'm not sure if it'll work...most people see logs like these as firewood, not toys.
Lunch for the teachers. I'm just always always amazed at their capacity to eat large amounts of starches, whether rice or sadza (made from cornmeal).
